Another national
championships has come and gone. For many, the entire nationals experience is a
whirlwind of emotions and memories. These nationals were no exception. Over
1500 athletes from all over the country filled the mountain and Village of Copper to create an environment rich with skiing and snowboarding talent.
Athletes got to make new friends, share in new experiences, ski amazing
terrain, and compete on the highest stage of the year (for most). It really was
a very special place to be!
Despite being April, a
cycle of winter weather encapsulated the area for the majority of our time in
Colorado. The snow conditions were ever-changing; there was wind, there was
fresh snow, there was sun, there were overcast skies, and the temperatures
never rose above 40 degrees until the last 2 days. Ever-the-while, the show
must go on. The ADK series athletes continuously showed their resilience,
and adaptability to the constantly changing conditions.
